Celebrate Eastern and Western Holidays - Make Learning English More Fun
In the teaching of culture, holidays are the most representative, and easiest to implement. Teachers can present each holiday with different activities so that the students can enjoy the holidays and increase their motivation in English learning, while at the same time expose them to different cultures.
“Carnival of Holidays” helps teachers create a useful English learning environment. The series comes with 2 volumes, introducing 4 holidays each, including Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chinese New Year, Easter, Mother’s Day, Dragon Boat Festival, and Moon Festival. Each unit introduces the origins of the holidays, decorations, recipes for traditional foods, and game activities for the teachers to use in their classrooms.
Through stories about the holidays, teachers can introduce where the holidays come from and how they are celebrated. Using arts and crafts activities, students can decorate the classroom or make props for the holiday parties. Classic and innovative holiday games incorporate important vocabulary and phrases commonly used in these holidays. Holiday recipes provide with easy to make recipes that can be used as gifts or snacks for holiday parties.
This book incorporates the eight multiple intelligences: Linguistic intelligence, Logical-mathematical intelligence, Spatial intelligence, Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence, Musical intelligence, Interpersonal intelligence, Intrapersonal intelligence, and Naturalist intelligence in designing different activities in hope to create more fun in learning English.
