Resolve Proficiency Differences - Choose "Be Cool! Be Smart!" as Elementary English Learning Material
The very first step to learn English well is to choose appropriate materials. "Be Cool! Be Smart!" is a set of English learning materials designed especially for elementary-school children. There are 12 volumes in total with 8 units in each volume. Based on multiple intelligence theory, this series aims to make children with different learning styles fall in love with English! Children will not only have the most natural learning materials, but also develop a better personality with a broader view of the world, and become young international elites! Let children "Be Cool! Be Smart!"
All texts are written in English only to train children to develop thinking in English and not rely on information from their native language. Related grammar explanations, Chinese translations of texts, and vocabulary lists are attached in the appendix. This style of book makes teaching easier and forces children not to reply on Chinese in learning. The main text in each volume is presented in a comic style with interesting and fun story themes attractive to children. Texts in the first six volumes are attached with "Be Cool!" little boxes which talk about character education in their daily life, and is related to the contents of the text. There is also a personality education activity book for exercises with which children’s personality can be further developed. Each volume also includes Chinese/foreign holidays and culture-introduction, as well as fun English games in pictures or drawings which are written according to children’s English level—clear and easy to understand while children can learn while having fun.
To help teachers improve the students’ learning progress, teachers can purchase homework books or a Chinese/English CD for students with which children may do effective preview and review. Moreover, teachers are suggested to purchase the Teaching Guide to manage all teachers’ need, including teaching know-how, character introduction, texts explanation, suggested lesson schedule, detailed content of each unit, mid-/final term evaluation, mid-/final term tests and answer key, oral test questions, homework answer key, personality education activity book answer key, boys’ and girls’ names, a list of songs in English and Chinese, reproducible teaching materials, a teaching resources CD, and so on.
To enrich teachers’ teaching, this series also includes a teaching points chart, letter pronunciation flash cards, vocabulary flash cards, and other useful products. "Be Cool! Be Smart!" will make teaching easier and learning more effective!
